MEET OUR FIRST PROTOTYPE
A practical starting point
for a larger vision.
The Orca Mini is our first maritime prototype: a 12-foot (3.66 m), jet-propelled surface craft. It provides a foundation for advancing Axon’s own autonomous products through rapid development and field testing.
The current prototype baseline combines electronic steering and throttle control with autonomous waypoint navigation.
See what we’re developingPayload is a design target pending structural and stability validation. Obstacle avoidance, GPS-denied navigation, and connected operations remain in development.
| Performance | Cruise | Sprint |
|---|---|---|
| Speed / knots | 28 knots | 54–56 knots |
| Speed / mph | ~32–33 mph | 62–64 mph |
| Speed / km/h | ~52 km/h | ~100–104 km/h |
Performance figures are provisional and pending validation on The Orca Mini. These figures do not establish performance at the 600 lb payload target.
We’re building Axon-designed autonomous products and the intelligence that connects them.
Develop Axon-designed vehicles around the missions they need to perform.
Build a shared foundation of autonomy that can support the next generation of Axon products.
Integrate emerging capabilities, measure performance, and use test results to guide the next iteration.
Our prototype provides the foundation.
Each next capability has to earn its place through testing.
Electronic steering, throttle control, and autonomous waypoint navigation on The Orca Mini.
We’re developing navigation for environments where GPS is degraded or unavailable. Our approach combines onboard computer vision, inertial sensing, and environmental mapping to estimate position, detect obstacles, and plan routes.
A roadmap toward mesh communications, aerial integration, and shared situational awareness. Coordinated maritime operations are in development, with the goal of connected platforms sharing information and coordinating mission execution under human oversight.
Roadmap capabilities are development goals, not currently available product specifications.
